I love these pictures! It is so hard to get pictures of Jake and I because I am the one taking most of the pictures. So, this morning as we were about to leave for the day I took these pictures myself...I have no idea why the coloring turned out this way but I kind of like it! It's still dark when Jake and I head out the door so maybe that had something to do with it. Not only is it still dark but every COLD...that is why Jake is wearing his bear suit! To keep him nice and toastie in the car! Oh and Jake is 8 months old today! Crazy how fast time is going!

So this is Jake's new trick for the week! He is getting very close to being able to pull himself to a standing position. Dad had to lower the crib...but I think he might have to lower it even more soon. Jake is getting so strong and is starting to do some furniture cruisin'!

Ok, so this was the first time I forgot to take a picture! And then I didn't do very good the next day either and ended up having to take a picture of the dog~not nearly as cute as Jake! :)

Grandpa John gave Jake a stuffed tiger just because he loves him! The tiger came with a registration card to name a star after Jake...so cool!

Jake has a new favorite food: COOKIES! Ok, so they are just the Gerber wheels but he loves them! Jake is learning how to eat finger foods and I love watching him learn how to eat with his hands!

Just a few pictures to show how much Jake has out grown his play mat! He completely hangs off the edges and can move all around it. I remember putting him on it for the first time ever and all he did was lay there and watch the flashing lights. Now he can play with all the attached toys! Oh he is getting so big...

So I can't believe Jake can stand on his own while holding on to something! I was so excited and a little bit sad, he is getting so big so fast! I wonder if he'll just skip the crawling thing altogether! I mean after all who wants to crawl on the floor with all the dog hair! LOL...He is still trying to crawl but man he gets pissed when he can't figure it out in about....mmmm....say 5 seconds! He is so like his mom and dad in this department! We are really enjoying having Jake and can't believe how much fun he is now (not that he wasn't before)!


Another big change for Jake and me this week was we have stopped breastfeeding except for his early morning feeding. Jake was really out growing it. He wanted to stop and look around and play while eating so I figured it was a natural time to let it go...another bitter sweet moment for me! I'm really glad I was able to go 8 months and never in a million years thought I would enjoy it as much as I did! It was just another wonderful thing only a mommy gets to experience!

Jake all bundled up ready for the rain! We had to go to the grocery store even though it was raining out. Chris and I had so much fun running through the rain together trying to keep Jake dry. We laughed our butts off and Jake thought it was pretty cool too! I love the rain and so does Chris....we hope Jake will love it too and of course we look forward to the day we can all splash in the puddles together!

Daddy's home!!!

After a seven day trip to Dallas for training Daddy is finally HOME!! The first two pictures are of welcome home kisses from Jake and Izzy. Izzy was barking and going crazy which kind of scared Jake so he started to cry a little.
All Daddy wanted to do was watch the Chargers game but his kidos had other plans for him...I mean what do you expect after being gone for 7 days....your family missed you!

Today I took Jake to church for the very first time! We went with my godparents, which are my aunt Tammy and uncle Richard, to the Saturday evening mass and then went out for tacos after. It was very neat to have my godparents there for Jake's first church experience...I'm working on getting in "good standing" with the church so that I can get Jake baptized. My favorite moment was when we all went up to take communion. I went first and then watched as my uncle, who was holding Jake, took his and then had Jake blessed. It was very sweet! Jake did an awesome job in church too...didn't make a peep...and he loved the singing! There was a lady behind us who was belting it out and Jake loved watching her! We will be going next Saturday too and hopefully every Sat. or Sun after that.

Jake always wants the real remote or the real phone even though he has a toy one of each so I gave him my old cell phone to play with and of course he loved it!

Bath time is one of my favorite times with Jake! He loves the bath too...he has just discovered how to splash and that makes it even more fun! I love to watch him explore the water....he often stops and tries to pick up the water with his hand. I would love to know what he is thinking about when he does this because you can tell he is really trying to figure out why he can't pick up the water.

Ok, so trying to do this project while Chris is on the road and I'm working is a bit harder than I thought it would be. I did, however, take pictures everyday just had no time to post them! I also almost forgot to take a picture on the 13th because we spent the entire afternoon looking at houses...so these are what I got!
I love this one because of Jake's expression! He makes the cutest faces.

Jake playing with his toys while mommy makes dinner. Look at those chubby cheeks!



He loves this toy! He loves to push down the doors. He is kind of obsessive about it, in fact, he will not move on until all the doors are knocked back down! Some times he'll let the monkey stay up but that's only some times! :)



And then of course the best thing to play with isn't a toy at all but a pacifier! I love this picture! He is getting so big and looks like such a little boy to me now! His expressions are priceless!

Returning to work was super hard for me! I missed my little monkey tons. I was exhausted too due to the fact that Jake decided, after all week last week sleeping through the night, to get up every 20 minutes from 2:00am on! I think he heard me talking about going back to work and this was his way of protesting. When I dropped Jake off at Auntie's house, he waved for the first time ever...sooooo cute! It made my day! I can not believe how much I love this little guy!

After the car ride!



This is Jake's new thing to do on car rides! It drives Daddy crazy because socks are a hard thing for his big hands to put on Jake. He wants to invent pants and socks that velcro together so that babies can't take their socks off. Jake, however, loves pulling his socks off and of course eating them while we are driving somewhere. He is happy as can be~making all kinds of noises~ if he has his socks to pull on and play with! This was a short car ride so he only had time to take one sock off...normally it's both!
